It does this through the federal government's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Funding AreasNCRR works to improve the public's understanding of health and biomedical research, to generate interest in science-related careers, and to train the next generation of biomedical and behavioral researchers. To meet these goals, NCRR is interested in funding:
Projects that target students in grades K-12, community colleges, tribal colleges, undergraduate colleges and minority serving institutions as well as patients with health conditions that affect medically underserved populations are strongly encouraged.
