CTSA Funding GuidelinesSEE ALSO: To meet the goal of funding approximately 60 CTSAs across the nation, NCRR developed funding guidelines that were applied to awards made in 2007 and 2008 and will be continued indefinitely. In general, the guidelines are as follows:
The size of CTSA awards will vary, depending on how institutions propose to consolidate existing NIH-funded programs. Each applicant may request total costs annually that approximate up to 40 percent more than the current combined costs of certain NIH awards (such as NCRR-administered K12, M01, K30, Roadmap T32 and K12 awards) held by their institution and its affiliates, with a total funding level of no less than $4 million per year. Applicants who would like verification of their calculations should contact NCRR program staff. NCRR will work closely with the current and new awardees to promote the sharing of resources through the consortium and to modify the scope of individual awards as necessary. The CTSA institutions, by working as a consortium both regionally and nationally and in cooperation with the NIH, can build on their strengths and expertise to transform clinical and translational research across the nation.
